A Ferris Wheel and a Nighttime Light Show

I spent a couple of nights away from home in mid-December of 2013. The evening's main event was a large outdoor show at a theme park. A huge crowd had gathered around a body of water, all of us facing the giant, stationary Ferris wheel with Mickey Mouse's face at its center, waiting for things to kick off.

The show was entirely about light and water. As darkness fell, hundreds of fountains in front of us began to dance, illuminated in sync with a massive light projection on the wheel itself. The entire area was lit up, with the colors reflecting off the water and the faces in the crowd.

I stayed in one spot and watched the patterns change. The wheel and fountains would shift from a multicolor rainbow to a deep purple, then to bright orange and back again. The photos I took are just static moments from a constantly moving and shifting display. It was a massive spectacle against the dark sky, with the wheel looming over everything.
