A Late Autumn Weekend of Music and Family Photos

A full weekend in late November, the kind where the seasons feel like they're just starting to overlap. The air is crisp but the sun is still warm in the afternoons.

Saturday was spent indoors, watching a local orchestra performance. There's a specific feeling to being in an auditorium, seeing the musicians arranged on stage under the lights with the deep blue curtain behind them, waiting for the conductor to begin.

The next day was for family photos, getting them done before the holidays kicked into full gear. We found a spot down by the lake where the shore was rocky and patches of early snow clung to the ground. The sun was already getting low, casting that great golden light through the pines.

We worked through a few different groupings with everyone, from the whole extended family down to just the kids. It felt good to capture these moments for them against the backdrop of the partially frozen lakeshore and the quiet woods.
