A Quiet Saturday Appreciating Art at Home
Just a quiet Saturday at home at the end of April. The light was hitting things in a particular way, so I spent some time with some of the art pieces I've collected over the years, mostly ceramics. It’s not something I do often, but it felt good to just slow down and look.
I lined a few of them up on the wooden table to see them together. There's a plate with a sheep's head and these piercing green eyes, and a small vase shaped like a person with a bright red dot on its nose. Some are more about texture and form, like the one with the rough, colorful base and the smooth dark top, or the others that are heavily textured and almost architectural.
I kept rearranging them as the light shifted. The sun coming through the window cast shadows from the plants, changing how the glazes looked. It's funny how you can live with objects and stop really seeing them. It was nice to just spend a day noticing the details again.
