Dogs, Sun, and a Few Days at Home

The last week of May rolled into June with consistently clear, sunny weather. I spent a little time downtown, walking past Petco Park under a bright blue sky. From a nearby rooftop, the view stretched out across the bay to the Coronado Bridge, framed by a few tall palm trees. It felt very much like the start of summer here.

Most of the days, though, were quiet and spent at home. Our dog's main agenda was to find the sunniest spot on the patio furniture and refuse to move. I spent a lot of time just watching him doze in the warmth. We also got out for a walk through a patch of prickly pear cactus, which were thriving in the sun.

To wrap up the week, we took the dogs to the coast. They went straight for the water, splashing around the shallow surf near the rocks. It's always fun to watch them play, completely soaked and happy. They explored the rocky terrain for a while before we finally called it a day and headed back.
