Early March Days Watching the Water
A few quiet days in early March, mostly spent observing the light. From the balcony, the view over the water and the scattered islands was immense. Each evening brought a slightly different sunset. One night it was a sharp, golden reflection, the next a softer haze. A couple of these photos were shot right through the lanai screen, which is just the reality of the view.
The daytime was a different world entirely. The sun was high and bright, turning the water a brilliant turquoise under a clear blue sky. We got out on the boat and moved through the channels, passing other boats and the shoreline communities with their docks and palm trees. It was the kind of bright, warm day that feels a world away from a Michigan spring.
The rhythm was simple: bright, direct sun on the water during the day, followed by the slow, colorful fade of sunset in the evening. Just a few regular days, watching the water.
