From a Quiet Lake to the Fisherman's Wharf
A few quiet days at home in early July. The weather up here in the mountains was clear and bright, and I spent some time by a nearby lake. The water was perfectly still, giving a clean, glassy reflection of the pines and the blue sky. It was a pretty peaceful way to start the week.
Then I took a day trip down to San Francisco for a change of scenery. The weather was just as good on the coast, sunny with just a bit of fog lingering out on the bay in the distance. I ended up walking around Fisherman's Wharf, which was busy as usual with tourists and the sound of sea lions.
The old 'Fishermen's Grotto' sign stood out against the perfectly clear sky. I watched the boats and ferries moving around the harbor for a while before grabbing a bite to eat. It was a simple day out before heading back to the quiet of the mountains.
