A Ballgame and Fireworks, July 2004
This was a perfect summer afternoon for a baseball game back in July of 2004. Our seats were high up, giving us a wide-open view of the entire field. From that vantage point, you can really appreciate the geometry of the game, watching the players move across the bright green grass and rich brown dirt of the infield.
The stadium was packed, a sea of spectators filling almost every seat. It was a classic daytime game atmosphere. The city skyline was visible just beyond the outfield walls, a constant reminder that we were right in the heart of downtown.
We watched the innings tick by, the players appearing as small figures in white uniforms moving through their familiar routines. There's a certain rhythm to watching a game from this high up, seeing the pitch, the swing, and the fielding all happen in a single, fluid motion.
As the game ended and evening set in, the stadium lights took over. The finale wasn't on the field, but above it. A firework show lit up the night sky, with the explosions of light and smoke rising over the ballpark and the city buildings. It was a great way to cap off the day.
