Amelia's Birthday Party at Home

We had Amelia's birthday party at the house today. Kept it small — pizza from Skipolini's, a fruit salad, and a pink cake with the name piped across the top in frosting that mostly stayed legible.

The birthday kid wore a flower headband nearly as big as the head it sat on, and left it alone all afternoon, which surprised everyone. Between the couch cushions and the coffee table there was a lot of ground covered on hands and knees, headband flopping forward the whole way.

Presents got stacked on the piano until it was time to open them, and there was a stretch of sitting on Grandpa's lap while the pizza boxes emptied out. The tablecloth with the little flowers came out for the occasion. Cake went over well, in that most of it ended up eaten and some of it ended up elsewhere.
