A Summer Beach Day at Morro Rock
We spent a day out at the beach by Morro Rock back in late July of 2010. When we first arrived, the sky was a brilliant, cloudless blue, making the rock stand out against the ocean.
As we got down onto the sand, the weather did its typical coastal thing, and a layer of clouds rolled in, turning the light flat and grey. We walked along the shoreline with the dog, watching the waves and the seagulls.
The sun decided to make another appearance, just in time for the kids to get into their swimsuits and play in the sand. We had a small inflatable pool and some buckets, which kept them busy for a while. It was a classic family day at the beach, complete with a sandy dog.
The water was probably cold, but that didn't stop one of the kids from getting in. By the end of our time there, the sky had clouded over again. We stood by the water for a bit, just watching the waves before packing everything up to head home.
