A Clear November Hike and Early Snow in Tahoe

We took advantage of a perfectly clear day on November 2nd for a hike. It was cold, but the sun was bright and the sky was almost completely blue. It felt like one of those last good days before winter really settles in.

The trail starts near a small, still lake before beginning to climb through the pines. As we gained elevation, the views started opening up. We could see the first dustings of snow on the higher peaks across the way, a clear sign of the changing season.

The terrain got rockier as we went, passing some interesting volcanic formations. We stopped at a high point for a quick selfie against the backdrop of the mountain range. From there, we had a huge view looking down on the deep blue water of the lake below, framed by the endless forest. A great, straightforward day out on the trail.
