A Calm November Walk on Tahoe's East Shore
We had an unusually calm and clear day for early November, so we went out for a walk along the East Shore of Lake Tahoe. The air was still and the sky was a high, thin blue, making the lake look like a sheet of dark glass from the viewpoints above.
Down closer to the water, the clarity was incredible. You could see every submerged granite boulder resting on the bottom as if there were no water there at all. The surface was so flat that it created perfect, undisturbed reflections of the shoreline pines and rocks.
There wasn't much wind, just bright sun. It felt quiet and still, like the whole basin was holding its breath before the winter storms arrived. It was just a simple walk, but these are the kinds of days that feel like a gift this time of year.
