A Cozy Holiday Celebration at Home, December 2018

Mid-December 2018, and the house was ready for the holidays. Before the rest of the family arrived, I decided our dog needed his own festive photoshoot. He was a surprisingly patient subject, posing in front of the decorated tree and all the wrapped gifts. We tried a few different looks, from a simple plaid collar to a red bow tie, before finally committing to the full Santa hat ensemble. He took it all in stride, offering a few different expressions for the camera.

Once people started showing up, the quiet house filled with energy. The kids were in full holiday mode, and things got wonderfully silly. One of the kids decided her calling was to become a human Christmas tree, wrapping herself head to toe in green streamers, tinsel, and lights. It was definitely a highlight of the evening.

The night ended with everyone gathered around the kitchen island, which was covered in snacks and craft supplies. There were plates of Christmas cookies, cheese, fruit, and veggies to graze on while the kids worked on their projects. It was just a simple, comfortable evening at home with family.
