A Few Days at Home and by the Lake in Tahoe

A quiet stretch of days at home in mid-September. We had some of the usual visitors stopping by the yard; a couple of bucks were grazing on whatever is still green out back. It's always nice to see them this close to the house.

We decided to take the Jeep and the WoollyBear trailer out for a quick local camping trip. We found a good spot among the pines not too far away and got the rooftop tent set up. It's a simple, familiar process now. The dogs made themselves comfortable pretty much immediately, curling up in their bed for a nap in the afternoon sun.

We spent most of the time down by the lake, watching the weather shift. One evening was particularly moody, with dark clouds hanging low over the mountains and the water after sunset. The next day, it was all bright blue skies and puffy white clouds, which completely changed the feel of the place. Just a simple, quiet few days.
