A Quiet September Evening on Lake Tahoe
A quiet evening by the lake in early September. The water was glass-calm, with boats already moored for the night. From the rocky shoreline, the sky was just starting to fade into soft pinks and blues over the mountains on the far side.
We walked out onto the long pier as the light dimmed. A few other groups were there, taking in the view. The air was getting cooler, that distinct feeling of a late summer evening in the mountains.
The sunset peaked just over the forested ridgeline, lighting up the clouds with a final burst of orange. The water reflected the color, catching the last light of the day. A simple, calm evening at home.
