A Few Days on the Slopes in Tahoe
The first few days of January 2016 were spent close to home, up on the mountain. The conditions were just right—plenty of fresh snow under a bright, high-altitude sun. The sky was a mix of deep blue and scattered clouds, with the light catching the snow being kicked up into the air.
Riding the lifts gives you a completely different perspective. Looking down, you can see all the lines and tracks weaving between the trees. From up high, the scale of the landscape really hits you. Everything is just vast, white, and quiet, stretching out for miles.
From the higher elevations, I could see Lake Tahoe in the distance, a patch of dark blue surrounded by snow-dusted peaks. It was just a pretty standard start to the year here, making the most of a few clear days. Good to be back on skis.
