A Few Days Overlooking a Tropical Bay

We spent a few days here in early August. The first thing I remember is the view from the room, looking out over a wide, calm bay. The hills surrounding the water were incredibly green and dense, with a few small islands visible further out.

Our balcony looked down over a red-tiled roof and some palm trees. The best feature was a flamboyant tree right next to us, full of vibrant orange blossoms that stood out against all the blue and green. We spent a lot of time just sitting out there in the two Adirondack chairs, watching the occasional boat pass by, leaving a white wake on the water.

The days fell into a simple rhythm. The sun was bright but there was usually a breeze. In the afternoons, we'd go down to the pool, which was set on a deck overlooking the landscape. It was a quiet trip, mostly about swimming and just taking in the view from the balcony.
