A Few Days on the Water in Early August
First evening of a few days on the water, anchored in a bay below a hillside resort — cabins with pyramid roofs scattered up through the trees, a thatched umbrella out on the rocks by the dinghy dock, a strip of beach off to one side. The moon was already up over the ridge while it was still full daylight.
The rest of the evening happened from the deck of the catamaran. The sun came down through a stack of clouds over the smaller island across the channel, and a pelican or something like it cut low across the water right where the reflection was. Rigging creaking, not much else moving in the anchorage.
