A Few Days on the Water in Early August

Spent a few days out on the water in early August. It's a familiar view looking back at the shore, with all the bungalows built into the green hillside under a pale afternoon moon. The water was calm most days, and it was a pretty quiet and normal stretch of time.

The real reason to be out there is for the evenings. We'd usually just motor out a bit and wait for the sun to go down. This time, the sky was full of dark, dramatic clouds that kept catching the light in interesting ways as it faded, silhouetting the islands on the horizon.

Just as the sun was dipping between two of the islands, a lone bird flew right through the shot. It's peaceful to just sit on the deck and watch the light change over the water. A good end to a regular day.
