We spent the long Fourth of July weekend in Nevada. The holiday itself was sunny and festive. We found ourselves at a community event, posing for a photo in front of the local Truckee Meadows Fire Department station, which was decorated with a large American flag.

The trip involved some time at the airport, which is always its own kind of experience—just waiting for the next leg of the journey to start. Once we settled in, we spent some time exploring the city.

We walked through one of the massive indoor shopping arcades, with its high glass ceilings and luxury storefronts. The main event for our trip, though, was a concert. We managed to get a selfie from our spot in the middle of a pretty dense crowd.

Before heading home, we had to see the Sphere at night. It's a strange and impressive sight, and the whole area around it was filled with people. It was a quick but very full trip, seeing a few different sides of the state.
