Clear Skies and a Hike Above the Lake
The last weekend of June was pretty straightforward. The weather settled into a pattern of perfectly clear, deep blue skies from morning until night. It's that time of year when the sun is intense, and the air is dry.
I spent some time hiking around one of the smaller lakes nearby. The water was incredibly blue against the granite and pine-covered hills. Everything felt still and quiet, just the sound of my boots on the trail and the bright sun overhead.
Another day, I took a trail that climbs up for a view over the main lake. From that elevation, you can see the whole expanse of it, dotted with boat wakes. Looking across to the other side, there's still a good amount of snow clinging to the highest peaks, a reminder of the winter we had. It's a good vantage point to just sit for a bit before heading back down.
