Holiday Week at Home in San Diego
Still holiday week, so the days are loose. Took the dog down to the coast at low tide and let her work the flat rocks under the sandstone cliffs — she picked her way from slab to slab through the tide pools and mostly kept her feet dry, which for her counts as restraint.
Back home the tree is still up and the pile of presents under it hasn't fully cleared out, two days after Christmas. A Christmas Carol was on above the fireplace in the evening while the dog worked over a chew on the rug, unbothered by Scrooge.
Also got her up to the top of Double Peak. She sat at the overlook by the guardrail and stared out at the hills like she was assessing them for something. Clear enough to see a long way.
