A Holiday Week at Home in San Diego
The last week of 2018 was a quiet one spent at home. We kicked off the holidays with a trip to the beach on Christmas Eve. The tide was low, exposing the rocks along the base of the cliffs, and our dog had a great time exploring the shallow pools of water.
Christmas itself was cozy and low-key. We had the tree lit up, stockings on the fireplace, and a pile of presents underneath. After the unwrapping was done, the dog settled in with a new bone while we watched movies for the rest of the day.
The days that followed were clear and sunny. I caught a nice, warm-colored sunset over the neighborhood hills one evening. We took advantage of the good weather to get out for a hike on one of the paved trails nearby, which had a great view over the landscape. Just a simple, calm way to close out the year.
