A Late September Weekend at Coronado

We spent part of the weekend walking around the Hotel del Coronado. The sky was that intense, cloudless blue you get on some days here, which makes the old white hotel and its red roofs really stand out. It's always a bit of a strange, grand sight against all the palm trees.

The grounds were looking especially lush. I was struck by a tree shedding bright pink blossoms all over the grass; the ground was just covered in them. The color was incredible against the deep greens of the ferns and the perfectly manicured lawns.

We ended the walk down on the beach, looking back at the hotel from a distance as a few clouds started to appear over the ocean. It was a simple, pleasant afternoon out.
