A Late Summer Afternoon and Views in Truckee
A clear, warm afternoon in Truckee at the end of August. We spent part of the day walking through the woods, which were dry from the summer heat. We passed by a classic red log cabin with a big stone chimney, tucked back among the pine trees.
The views from the ridge were endless, just forest and mountains under a perfectly blue sky. It was quiet and still.
Later, we were back at a house with a deck overlooking the valley. As the sun started to drop, it cast long shadows from the trees and railings.
The light inside was just as striking. It streamed through the windows and glass doors, making sharp patterns across the tiled floors. The dining room, with its walls of windows, felt like it was sitting right in the middle of the landscape.
