A Monday at Home with Lingering Snow
March 7th. It was a clear, sunny day, but the yard was still covered in a thick blanket of snow from the last storm. Our Buddha statue looked like it had been there for a while, sitting peacefully in its little patch of white under the pine trees. The shadows were long and sharp in the bright sun.
The dogs were out making the most of it. The black and white one was running around the wooded parts of the yard, leaving tracks in the deeper snow before coming to a stop and just looking at me. It's that time of year where the ground is a mix of snow, pine needles, and bare earth.
The little tan one was a bit more cautious, sticking mostly to the paved patio where things had melted. There are just these patches of snow left, clinging on in the shaded spots. It feels like we're on the edge of spring, but winter isn't quite ready to leave yet. Just a quiet day at home, watching the seasons change slowly.
