A Monday at Home with Lingering Snow
A Monday at home in Truckee, nowhere to be, so the day was mostly the yard and the dogs. The snow is going but not gone — still deep enough out back that the buddha sits in a hollow of it, buried nearly to the shoulders, with the trees throwing long shade patterns across the whole slope behind him.
Bandit worked the melted patches under the pines, nose down through the needles and around the fallen branch, then out onto the snow itself, kicking through the old footprints. The other one kept to the pavers, where the snow has pulled back in a clean curve and left bare brick to stand on.
Still cold enough in the shade that nothing under the big trees has budged.
