A Mother's Day Brunch on the Patio

Mother's Day 2018 started with this simple, framed message from my daughter. A very sweet gift to kick off the day.

We went out for a big brunch to celebrate. The weather was clear and sunny, perfect for sitting out on the patio. It was a buffet-style meal, so the girls were thrilled to be able to pick out their own plates of sushi and cupcakes for breakfast.

I went with a slightly more traditional breakfast of an omelet and avocado toast, but the dessert table was the main event. We all shared a plate of little cakes and tarts—pistachio, coconut, and some with fresh blueberries.

We took a few pictures inside before heading home. Just a nice, easy day spent together as a family.
