A Night of Jazz Music Near Lake Tahoe
Spent an evening in December taking in a local jazz performance. The night started with a simple trio on stage: a singer, a pianist, and an upright bass player. The lighting was minimal, focused on the musicians against the dark curtain behind them.
The group expanded as the set went on. A drummer joined them, adding a new layer to the rhythm section. You can see him settling in behind the kit, flanked by the piano and the bass. The singer remained at the center of it all, interacting with the band and the music.
By the end, a trombonist had joined the stage, making it a full quintet. The stage was washed in purple light for the final numbers, casting a cool glow over the performers and their instruments. It was a classic jazz club feel, right here near home. Just a simple night out enjoying some live music.
