A Quiet Christmas Celebration in Truckee

We spent Christmas up in Truckee this year. It snowed quite a bit, which always makes the holiday feel right. The balcony railing was covered by nightfall, and we stayed inside where it was warm, with the lights from the Christmas trees reflecting on the windows.

The house was full of people. We took the usual selfies. A friend came dressed as Santa Claus, looking very convincing with the beard and red suit. This was the main event, and everyone, including the dog in his festive bandana, got a photo with him.

While the main group was socializing, others were scattered around the house. One of the kids found his way into the home music studio to check out the equipment. In the kitchen, the usual work of preparing a big holiday meal was in full swing, complete with paper crowns. It was just a comfortable couple of days spent together with good food and familiar company.
