A Quiet Mother's Day in the Garden and at Home

It was Mother's Day in 2007, a warm and sunny afternoon. We spent some time out in the garden, which was lush with green ground cover and patches of tiny white flowers. I took a few photos of them sitting on a rock amidst the blooms, enjoying the bright May sunshine.

The baby seemed taken with all the flowers, eventually grabbing one to hold. It was one of those simple, quiet moments in the backyard that feel worth remembering.

Later, we moved inside to get out of the sun and relax on the couch. The light coming through the window was soft and warm. They sat together, and I just kept taking pictures as they smiled and looked at each other.
