A Quiet Week at Home and a Thanksgiving Table
A quiet stretch of days at home in mid-November. The sunsets over the hills were consistently beautiful, casting a warm orange and pink light across the neighborhood as evening set in. It was a nice, predictable end to each day, watching the light fade.
Inside, things were just as calm. The dog found a new favorite spot on one of the woven chairs, settling in for a while. Just a lot of simple, domestic moments leading up to the holiday.
The main event of the week was getting the house ready for Thanksgiving. I spent a good amount of time setting the long dining table, pulling out the turkey plates we only use once a year. It’s a process I enjoy – arranging the colorful glassware, the placemats, the candles, and all the little autumnal decorations. By the time everything was in place and the candles were lit, the room felt warm and ready for everyone to arrive for dinner.
