A Quiet Holiday Weekend at Home
The few days after Thanksgiving in 2018 were quiet ones spent at home. The holiday season officially kicked off with festive mugs of hot chocolate, loaded with whipped cream and candy canes.
We spent most of the weekend getting the decorations up. The centerpiece was our white Christmas tree, which we covered in a mix of colorful, mismatched ornaments we've collected. The bright lights really stood out against the white branches. We also had a smaller, more traditional green tree with simple red bows and silver jingle bells.
At night, the main tree was visible through the living room window, a bright spot against the dark. It was a nice, welcoming view from the balcony.
The dog was maybe the most excited one in the house. For him, the holiday meant a new collection of plush toys to carry around. He seemed pretty content with his gingerbread man and a new red squeaky toy.
