A Snowy Christmas and Bluebird Ski Day in Tahoe

A proper winter storm rolled in the day before Christmas Eve, covering everything in a thick blanket of snow. The flakes were coming down heavy for most of the day, piling up on the pines and making everything quiet. It felt like the whole basin was settling in for the holidays.

The next morning, Christmas Eve, was cozy inside. We had the tree up, and the light coming through the window was bright against the snow outside. The storm had broken overnight, leaving clear, cold air behind.

With fresh snow and a perfectly clear blue sky, it was an obvious choice to get out for a few runs. The conditions were just about perfect. It's always a good day when you can get up on the mountain and look out over the lake like that, especially with a fresh coat of white on all the surrounding peaks. A great way to spend the day before Christmas.
