A Simple Holiday With Snow and a Forest Walk

The day started with a surprising amount of festivity right in our living room. Santa stopped by for a visit, and the girls, still in their pajamas, corralled the dogs for a photo. Even the dogs wore little plaid coats for the occasion.

After the morning excitement, we decided to get out for a walk in the fresh snow that had fallen overnight. The air was cold and the flakes were still coming down lightly as we walked through the tall pines. The forest felt quiet and still, just covered in a thick white blanket. Our dog had the best time, of course, running through the deep snow drifts near the edge of the frozen lake.

To warm up after our hike, we stopped at a local cafe for pastries and drinks. It felt good to sit down in the warmth and refuel. The day ended back at home, quiet and cozy, with the lights from our tree glowing in the corner. It was a simple holiday, spent close to home.
