Chalk and T-Ball in the Backyard
Nothing farther than the backyard today. The patio got a full mural first — a big yellow sun, some kind of blue creature, scribbles going every direction, chalk stubs scattered across the concrete. Dad sat down in the middle of it barefoot and contributed while the kid worked on the sun with a pink stub.
Then the chalk lost out to the t-ball set. It took a few tries with the yellow bat — a hand adjusted here and there, some coaching on where to stand — and by the end the kid was squaring up to the tee alone while the ball waited on top. One ball ended up out in the grass and stayed there.
The chalk drawings are still all over the patio. They'll be there until it rains.
