A Spring Afternoon on the Scooter

This was a simple afternoon in May 2009. I took the Yamaha Vino scooter out for a quick spin around the neighborhood. The weather was mild and the light was soft—perfect for a ride.

I was pretty far along in my pregnancy at this point, which made moments like this feel a little more significant. It was just a short ride on familiar residential streets, but it was also one of the last times I'd be out on the scooter by myself for a long while.
