Bay Crossings and a Visit to the Farm
The last weekend of May was pretty typical for this time of year. We spent some time out on the water, which always offers a different perspective on the city. The sky was a mix of clouds and sun, lighting up the bay in patches. From the boat, the full sweep of the skyline was visible, from the Bay Bridge all the way across to the hills rising behind the waterfront. The Transamerica Pyramid still defined the view back then.
The next day we headed up into the hills. Tucked away in a valley is a small farm, a complete change of pace from the city views. It's a quiet spot with a classic red barn, a windmill, and a handful of animals. We watched a gray cow grazing in the pasture for a while, completely focused on its task. Just a regular weekend, staying local and taking in the usual sights from a couple of different angles.
