A Spring Break Family Road Trip to the Coast

The week began with the school play. Our daughter was cast as a mouse, complete with ears and painted-on whiskers. She seemed to enjoy her moment on stage with all the other kids. As soon as the show was over, we packed up and got on the road for a change of scenery.

The girls settled into the back seat for the drive, and it wasn't long before they were both asleep. We arrived at our destination to find bright sun and rows of palm trees, exactly the kind of warmth we were looking for. The kids were immediately drawn to the large fountains outside our building.

We spent most of our time just enjoying the warm weather. The girls were in and out of their swimsuits, posing for pictures by the fountains. It was a simple, relaxing few days. One evening we found a casual restaurant with surf decor on the walls. It was nice to just sit down for a meal together after a day in the sun.
