A Summer Day Spent by the River

We spent a day by the river back on August 8th, 2020. The morning started out with some clouds, and the views from town showed the river running wide and green between the banks. You could see the mountains off in the distance, past the bridges connecting one side of the valley to the other.

We walked along the water, following a path that led away from the buildings and out into the open. As we went, the sky cleared up completely, turning into a bright, sunny afternoon. The valley is steep here, with tree-covered mountains rising right up from the river's edge.

Eventually, we found a spot to get down to a rocky beach. The dogs were happy to get into the cool water. We weren't the only ones with that idea; a few other people were enjoying the sun and the riverbank. It was a perfect summer day for it, with bright sun reflecting off the water's surface.

The light on the water and the clear blue sky made for a simple, good afternoon. Just a quiet day spent outside, walking and watching the dogs play.
