A Summer Trip Through Yellowstone and Grand Teton
We spent a few days in mid-August 2020 exploring Wyoming. The weather was clear and warm, perfect for getting out on the trails. We started with a hike near a running river, following a dirt path up through meadows and pine forests. The views of the surrounding hills opened up pretty quickly.
Of course, we had to see a geyser. We joined the crowd to watch it go off, a huge plume of steam against the puffy clouds. Later, we found a spot to cool off, wading in a wide, shallow river that was sparkling in the afternoon sun.
The landscape shifted as we moved south toward the mountains. We ended up at a lake full of boats docked at a marina, with the jagged peaks of the Tetons rising up behind them. We stayed until sunset, watching the light fade over the water. The clouds caught the last bits of sun, and the mountains stood out in silhouette. It was an impressive sight to end the day with.
