A Sunny Afternoon Afloat in the Backyard

It was a warm, clear Saturday in late April, and we were spending the day at home. I pulled an old yellow inflatable raft out for the pool to take advantage of the sun.

Our dog seemed curious, so we gently placed him in the center of the float to see how he'd react. He was surprisingly composed about the whole situation, just sitting there calmly as he drifted across the water. He floated around for a while, a small black-and-white figure on a bright yellow raft.

The afternoon light was hitting the water and the tile of the hot tub just right. I took a few photos as he made his slow journey across the pool. It was a simple, quiet moment, but a pleasant way to spend an afternoon in the backyard.
