A Sunny Weekend by the Bay
It was one of those brilliantly clear weekends in early May. The view from downtown showed the Bay Bridge stretching out into the distance without any fog in sight, which felt like a good reason to get outside for a walk.
I ended up down on the Embarcadero. There's a large metal sculpture near Pier 14 that I always stop to look at, framing the bridge and the water behind it. The sun was bright, and a few other people were out on the pier, just enjoying the afternoon.
The bay itself was dotted with sailboats making the most of the weather. I watched them glide past, with Treasure Island and Alcatraz visible in the distance. It was just a simple, quiet afternoon spent watching the water and taking in the familiar views of the bridge from different spots along the shore.
