A Weekend Beach Trip with the Dogs

We spent a couple of days close to home this weekend in late October. The weather was clear and sunny, so we took the dogs to the beach to run around. They started out in the calm, shallow water near the bridge, just splashing and exploring on the wet sand where the water was flat.

We walked further down the coast where the shoreline gets rockier and the waves pick up. They seemed to enjoy climbing on the low cliffs, looking out at the surf. The tide was going out, exposing more of the textured rock for them to scramble over under a bright, clear sky.

After a while, we walked back along the surf line as the sun got higher. We found a spot to set up an umbrella for some shade. They were pretty tired out by the end of it, happy to just sit and watch the ocean before we headed home.
