Flying High on the Bungee Trampoline in Newport Beach
We were in Newport Beach at the end of March 2016, and the weather was exactly what you hope for: bright sun and a nearly cloudless blue sky. Down by the water, among the palm trees and boat rental shops, the kids spotted a bungee trampoline and made a beeline for it.
They got strapped into the harnesses one by one. The whole activity was just a simple, repetitive cycle of pure fun. They'd bounce, and the bungees would send them flying high into the air, where they'd hang for a moment before coming back down to do it all over again. An attendant stood by, keeping an eye on things.
I just stood there and tried to capture that moment at the peak of the jump, suspended against the sky. It was a simple, perfect way to spend part of a sunny afternoon on the coast.
