Kayaks, Dogs, and Paddleboards on a Tahoe Lake

A couple of late June days in 2017 spent close to home in Tahoe. Things were quiet inside, with the dog claiming his spot on the bed before we got moving for the day. The plan was simple: get out on the water.

We headed down to a local lake with family. The weather was perfect for it—bright sun, clear blue sky, and not much wind, which kept the water pretty calm. We got the kayaks out, and the dog hopped right into one, seeming to enjoy the view from the bow.

We spent a while paddling around the lake, which was surrounded by the familiar pine-covered hills. It was a classic, straightforward summer day. As the afternoon wore on and the light got a little softer, there was some experimenting with yoga poses on a paddleboard near the dock. It was a good day spent on the water.
