Observing the Light and Dogs at Home

A quiet stretch of days at home in late September. The dogs spent a lot of time following the sun as it moved across the living room floor, chasing each other through the bright patches by the window. For a few hours, their world seemed to revolve around those moving squares of light.

The house itself was still. I spent some time in the corner with the piano and guitars, just taking in the quiet. The black-and-white dog has officially claimed one of the yellow armchairs as his personal throne, curling up on the pillow to watch the room.

The brown dog prefers the bed, usually with a toy. I caught him with a blue bandage he'd found somewhere, just chewing on it contentedly. He has this way of looking right at the camera, even when he's completely upside down. It was just a few regular days, watching them exist in their space, finding their own spots of comfort from the armchairs to the bed.
