Putting the Final Touches on the Nursery

A day at home in early October, spent getting the nursery ready. We've been working on this room for a while, but today felt like it was finally coming together. I spent some time arranging the furniture, getting the crib set up with the colorful patchwork quilt, and finding a spot for the rocking chair by the window.

The walls are a soft yellow, and the light coming through the blinds in the afternoon made the whole room feel warm. We put up a few small shelves for books and pictures, and got the changing table organized. It's all the small details that seem to take the most time.

It looks like the room already has its first resident. Our cat has claimed the big blue armchair as its own, and seems to be supervising all the work from a comfortable distance. I can't seem to move it. I guess the chair has been officially approved.
