Late August Days in Toronto and Niagara Falls

Spent a few days across the border in late August. The weather in Toronto was nice enough to walk along the waterfront, with big wooden chairs set up facing the water. From there, you could see the CN Tower and the Rogers Centre dome. Sailboats were out on the lake, including a large, older-looking one with three masts.

From there, we went to Niagara Falls. The weather had turned, and the sky was a flat, heavy gray for most of the time we were there. The amount of water constantly going over the edge is hard to comprehend. Down on the river, the tour boats, packed with people, looked small as they motored into the thick mist at the base of the falls.

We saw the falls from a few different angles. Looking across, you could see the city skyline on the horizon behind the spray. From right near the top, you can see the Canadian flag on the far bank and watch the turquoise water curve over the cliff's edge. Later in the day, from a higher viewpoint, the entire landscape opened up, showing both the American and Horseshoe Falls as the mist drifted up into the evening air.
