San Francisco Days: An Airshow and a Redwood Hike
A few photos from various days out and about in the Bay Area. We caught the Fleet Week airshow over the bay on a perfectly clear day. Crowds gathered on the grass by the water to watch the jets fly in formation over the Golden Gate Bridge, leaving smoke trails across the blue sky. It's a classic San Francisco event and the weather was ideal for it.
On another weekend, we took a short drive out of the city to walk among the redwoods. The scale of the forest is hard to capture in a photo. We followed a path between the giant trees, with shafts of sunlight breaking through the canopy high above. It's a completely different world from the noise of the airshow—so quiet and still.
The city has its own kind of energy, especially during the holidays. I found a photo from Union Square, with the tall Christmas tree set up next to the monument. It’s always bustling there, but especially so at that time of year. Just a few examples of the different kinds of days you can have around here.
