Blossoms out around the house
First of March and the pear trees have gone over all at once — white from the driveway to the back fence, petals already down on the concrete by the garage. Walked the whole yard to see where things stand.
The flowering quince along the back fence is the loudest thing out there right now, that hard red against all the bare branches around it. Daffodils are up near the gate by the fence line.
A row of geraniums is sitting along the block wall still in their nursery pots, so there's planting to do before long. The lawn is holding up well through it all — greener than the trees are, for another few weeks anyway.
