Sunsets and Christmas Lights at Home in Vista
We spent a few quiet weeks at home in Vista leading up to the holidays. The end of November brought a run of incredible sunsets. Just about every evening, the sky over the hills would light up with these intense purples and oranges. It was a pretty reliable end-of-day show, viewed right from the house.
As December started, we got into the holiday setup. We put up the multicolor lights along the roofline and got the inflatable decorations out on the lawn. Inside, the tree went up and we had the fireplace going most nights. Our dog staked out his usual spot on the tile hearth to soak up the heat from the fire.
He seems to enjoy this time of year. We even got him a festive plaid shirt, which he wore while lounging on his blanket under the tree, nestled among the ornaments. It was just a calm, typical lead-up to Christmas, with cozy evenings at home and colorful skies outside.
