December Skies and Dog Pajamas
Never left the neighborhood today and didn't need to. The sky over the water put on a full run of it — pink and purple clouds stacked up early, then a band of orange squeezed under the gray, and by dusk the marine layer had crept in over the coast and swallowed most of the view down the hill.
Inside, fire going, tree up. The dog held down the hearth for a good stretch of the afternoon, then ended up in plaid pajamas on the tree skirt after dark, looking resigned about the whole arrangement.
A house nearby has gone all in — roofline strung in colored bulbs, inflatables crowding the yard, a projector throwing red and green spots across the entire front of the place.
