Halloween Party in Lafayette
Halloween party in Lafayette this morning, our daughter in a pink leotard and tutu with a flower headband nearly the size of her head. The kids came out through the chain-link gate in a loose parade — a pumpkin, a Cinderella, a train engineer in striped overalls who kept looking straight up instead of forward. A couple of the moms dressed too; one wore the full Cat in the Hat, striped hat and red bow tie, and another had a witch hat big enough to shade three kids.
Our girl spent most of it with a finger in her mouth, taking everything in and giving away nothing.
Afterward the two of them went for lunch at the diner, tutu still on, a red rose in a vase in the next booth over.
