A Bay Area Halloween Party in 2008

October 31st, 2008. We went to a Halloween party with a big group of kids and their parents. It was a classic scene, with everyone gathered outdoors in costume. I spotted a pumpkin, a princess in a blue gown, and an adult in a full Cat in the Hat getup.

My daughter was a ballerina in a pink tutu and a giant matching flower in her hair. She seemed a little overwhelmed by all the activity, taking in the scene with wide eyes. I managed to get a photo of us, pointing at the camera to get her to look.

After the party wound down, we went out to eat. She was still in her full ballerina outfit as we settled into a booth at a restaurant. It was warm and quiet inside compared to the party. We just sat for a minute, holding hands across the table before our food arrived.
