A Clear Day Drive After a November Snowfall

Woke up on November 9th to what felt like the first real snow of the season. With a completely clear sky, we decided to just go for a drive and see the fresh coat on the landscape. We left early, around sunrise, heading out on roads that were mostly clear but flanked by powder. The Tesla dash read 2°F at one point as we drove towards the distant peaks.

As we gained elevation, the scenery changed. The high desert scrub gave way to dense pine forests, every branch loaded down with snow. The road twisted up into the mountains, and with the bright sun and deep blue sky, the contrast against the white snow was incredibly sharp. It was just a quiet drive through the woods.

Eventually the trees opened up to views of a large alpine lake. The dark blue water was a stark contrast to the snow-covered shores and the mountains ringing it. It was quiet and still out there. Just a simple drive on a cold, bright day, watching the winter landscape unfold from inside the car.
